We are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts is now open for the second edition of the Białowieża Ecology Conference (BEC). This edition will host the 36 th European Mustelid Colloquium and is organised in collaboration with the Vincent Wildlife Trust (VWT), an organisation specialising in scientific research and the active conservation of threatened mammal species.
We warmly invite submissions of abstracts covering broadly understood mustelid ecology, biology, evolution, conservation, monitoring methods, and population dynamics, as well as studies examining both the impact of these predators on the environment and the effects of environmental and climate change on mustelid populations.

Technical info:
Posters should not exceed 84 cm (width) x 118.9 cm (height) (A0) and need to be in portrait format. They will be fixed on poster boards. All poster authors will have the opportunity to present their posters during poster sessions.
As the number of oral presentations is limited, if unsuccessful you may be offered a poster presentation as an alternative.
Language:
The conference will be conducted in English; thus, all contributions have to be in English.
Guidelines for abstract preparation:
Abstracts should be prepared in English and include the following sections;
- Aim of the study
- Methods
- Results/Findings
- Conclusions/Implications.
The word limit in the body of the abstract is 300.
Please note that limits of space and time may make it impossible to accommodate all requests for oral presentations, in which case we may ask you to present your work as a poster.
Acceptance of submitted contributions
All abstracts will be reviewed by the conference scientific committee that has final authority for acceptance and scheduling. Authors will receive notification, confirming whether their contribution has been accepted for a poster or oral presentation by June 2026.
